Cable and syndication, on the other hand, are far more hospitable environments for geek love. quoted from a E! Online article about the New Battlestar Galactica's apparent failure to get ratings during a major network test outing.
The article basically states that anything Sci-Fi is nothing more than fodder for the geek squad and should know it's place and stay on cable. Well here is what I say to them...
I am proud to be a geek, nerd, dweed etc. If it means being able to watch intelligent, witty, inspiring and entertaining programming like the Star Trek series', Buffy, Angel, X-Files and on.
Maybe if CBS, NBC and ABC could find the same caliber of writers for their shows they wouldn't need to fill a majority of their time slots with "Reality" shows.
With a few notable exceptions like CSI, Lost and Alias I'll just stick to my geekdom.
*Jumps off the soapbox and flips on the Sci-fi channel*
